DoogieHowitzer is a reinforcement learning bot focused around rushing with cannons and gateways that build zealots. The rushing probes use RL to make it's decisions on which way to move, and if it should build a cannon or gateway. While V1.0 viewed the game world in a 48X48 square centered around the probe, in V1.2, it views the game world in a 70x70 square centered around the enemy's bases. With the 48X48 square the probe was often able to lose view of enemy bases. This change fixes that issue. A single frame is passed to a convolutional network where it's able to choose between 10 basic actions. 8 actions are basic movement directions for the probe, while the remaining 2 are build cannon or build probe. If a pylon is not present when a cannon or gateway is chosen, then a pylon will be built instead. V1.2 has trained for about 12k battles. Future plans are to increase the number of actions available for the bot to use for more precise control. Bot does not train on arena. |
